What we collect
- Contact form. Your first and last name, email address, company or organization (optional), inquiry type and the message you write.
- Newsletter. Your email address.
- Store finder. The zip code you type. It is used to match stockists in your browser and is not stored or transmitted to us.
- Server logs. Our host records standard request data including IP address, browser user agent and the pages requested. We use a short-lived record of your IP address to rate-limit form submissions and block automated abuse.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, to send you the product news you asked for, to protect the site from spam and abuse, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as we need them to answer your enquiry and for our ordinary business records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Rate-limiting records are discarded within minutes.
Who we share it with
Our web host and our email provider process this data on our behalf. We disclose information otherwise only where the law requires it.
Marketing email
We only send product email to people who asked for it. Every message includes an unsubscribe link that works, and we honor opt-outs promptly, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email info@captainblacksseafood.com. California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we honor those requests regardless of whether the law applies to us.
